The Community Outreach Committee coordinates outreach efforts with local high schools. One of the newest events hosted by the Community Outreach Committee is the Girls in Finance Day event. This event is hosted for local high school girls at the McIntire School of Commerce with hands-on activities, guest speakers, and panels. About Girls in Finance Day?

Girls in Finance Day welcomes high school students to visit the university to learn about finance careers and experience what it's like to be a McIntire student at UVA. Accepted participants will spend three hours at the Mcintire School of Commerce at UVA collaborating on hands-on activities, and listening to student and faculty speakers. The 3-hour event will be wrapped up with a farewell lunch. We hope these activities and speakers will help high school students decide whether they want to pursue a finance career in the future!

Who Can Attend?

Smart Woman Securities is dedicated to creating a safe, women-oriented space for everyone interested in finance. We welcome anybody in grades 10 through 12 who wants to be in this space to apply and attend our events. Admissions are not meant to be competitive as we wish to expose as many students as possible to opportunities in finance; however, to provide an engaging interactive experience, we must place limits on the number of accepted students.
